Jesse Read

I am a Professor (HDR) in the ORAILIX team of the Data Analytics and Machine Learning pôle of the Computer Science Laboratory (LIX) at École Polytechnique, of the Institut Polytechnique de Paris.

My research is in the areas of Machine Learning and AI, with interests in reinforcement learning and sequence modelling, with an emphasis on reliability and trustworthiness via probabilistic interpretations. You can read more about my research topics here).

Prior to becoming Professor (in 2019), I joined Ecole Polytechnique as Assistant Professor in 2016, which followed postdoc research at INFRES Télécom Paris (2016), Aalto University, Finland (2013-2016) and the Dept. TSC at the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, Spain (2010-2013). I obtained my PhD in 2010 from the University of Waikato, New Zealand.
